ScreenFriends enters into Joint Venture with FlatSpin Media, LLC
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 7, 2001--ScreenFriends(TM) Co. (www.screenfriends.com), a leading provider of voice activated software, a wholly owned subsidiary of WENR Corp. (OTC:WENR) (www.wenr.net), and FlatSpin Media, LLC (www.flatspinmedia.com), a multimedia content developer and a producer of mini (Shaped) CD-ROM’s, announced today the formation of a joint venture.
The venture will develop a series of user-friendly software products, which integrate voice activation/response software, voice IP technology (Telephony) and value-added content into compelling promotional tools.
The first product, a Gift Certificate package that will include: a “mini CD-ROM” with a Voice-activated onscreen dialer interface (VoiceDial™) to make phone calls, voice command software, a gift certificate (Gift Card) embedded on the CD-ROM and a microphone headset. The product allows users to place telephone calls from their computer to other users using an Internet connection, rather than a long distance carrier.
The CD-ROM provides a new dimension to gift certificates, offering the ability to view products or promotional content from the user’s computer. By incorporating barcodes and proprietary mag-stripe technologies, FlatSpin has produced high-level interest from national retailers and commercial businesses. A record and tape chain with 200 retail stores is the joint venture’s first market. The Gift Card will be sold over-the-counter at the retail stores.
